2. What data we collect

We collect data you provide and data generated by your use of the Platform:

(a) Identification and contact: name, nationality, national ID or passport (of all occupants), phone number, email, actual place of residence.
(b) Transaction data: purpose of rental, dates, property, certificates of study or employment, immigration status.
(c) Financial and credit data: proof of income and credit reports obtained from credit reporting agencies, payment data for the reservation and deposit.
(d) Biometric data: records used for the electronic signing of the contract.
(e) Communications: messages exchanged via WhatsApp, email, web forms and phone — WhatsApp conversations may be handled in whole or in part by an AI-powered automated assistant, and are retained for service management and quality purposes.
(f) Browsing data: IP address, device, pages visited and usage events, via cookies and Google Analytics (see Cookie Policy).

3. How we use your data

We use your data to: manage inquiries, applications, and reservations; verify the identity, solvency, and background of applicants (an essential part of our service); prepare and sign the rental agreement; coordinate check-in, check-out, cleaning, and support during the stay; process payments and deposits; comply with legal obligations; prevent fraud; send communications about your transaction; and, with your consent, send offers and news. We also use aggregated and anonymized data for statistics and service improvement.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only when necessary for the service: with property owners (the applicant's profile, for transaction approval); with service providers (data hosting, payment processors such as PayPal and collection platforms, Meta/WhatsApp Business, Google Analytics, credit reporting agencies, electronic signature providers); with professional advisors (lawyers, accountants) when applicable; and with authorities when required by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

5. International transfers

Our systems are hosted on servers located in the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your data to that country. We adopt reasonable safeguards to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection, in accordance with Argentine Law 25.326 on Personal Data Protection and other applicable regulations.

6. Retention period

We retain data while the relationship is active and, thereafter, for the statutory limitation periods of any actions that may arise (contracts, tax obligations). WhatsApp conversations and transaction records are retained as backup of the contractual relationship. You may request deletion of data we are not legally required to retain.

7. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, update, and deletion of your data at any time by writing to alternativarent@gmail.com. For users in Argentina: the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), as the supervisory authority under Law 25.326, has the power to handle complaints and claims regarding non-compliance with personal data protection rules. Data subjects have the right to exercise the right of access free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is demonstrated.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data (encryption in transit, access controls, providers with recognized security standards). No system is infallible; in the event of an incident affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable regulations.

9. Minors

The Platform is intended for persons over 18 years of age. We do not deliberately collect data from minors, except for data on minor occupants provided by the adult responsible for the reservation.

10. Changes

We will publish any updates to this policy on the Platform, indicating their effective date. Significant changes will be communicated through the usual channels.
